Premiere Pro / my OS freezes or crashes when PlumePacking a project
It can come from a lot of different things, but here are the first things you can test to avoid the crash:
- Test a new time ... a crash could occur only once and not the second time. You can reload the failed task in the PlumePack "Finished Queue" in order to avoid restarting the task from the beginning.
- Make sure you have enough Disk Space on your Cache/Scratch Disk and on the disk you are consolidating the new PlumePack project. At least ~50GB would be good.
- Start Premiere Pro and maintain the "Shift" key of your keyboard maintained. A dialog should be opened: tick the "Reset plugin loading cache" checkbox, the "Clear media cache files" checkbox, and the "Reset App Preferences" checkbox. (Note: save your Premiere App Preferences somewhere before if you don't want to loose it!)
- Once your project is opened, before to launch PlumePack create a new empty project. Copy everything in the original project (from the root bin in the Project Panel) and paste it in the new created project. It should make a perfect copy of your original project. Save it with another name, then PlumePack this copied project.
- Open the "Settings and License" window from the PlumePack Panel, and tick the "Reduce memory usage" checkbox. Then click "Ok".
- Finally, if everything above is not working, please enable the logs, reproduce the crash, send us the logs and contact us
