BRAW Studio is Now FREE !

Autokroma has decided to offer the community FREE decoding of all Blackmagic RAW (.BRAW) footage using BRAW Studio for Premiere Pro, Media Encoder and After Effects. This applies to version 2.7.0 and all future versions of BRAW Studio. This means anyone is able to use the basic importer features of our plugin suite for all Adobe audio-video software. You don't need to use the buggy plugin for PrPro from Blackmagic Design, there is now not any reason not to use BRAW Studio in your daily workflow. Indeed, if you want to send your Premiere Pro project to coworkers and they don't have a paid Premium license, they will still be able to open the project, decode the .BRAW with the color grade you applied, tweak the color grade in the Source Settings effect in the master tab etc.

Bonus, we also have conversion tools to convert your project from BMD plugin to BRAW Studio and vice-versa, reducing the bugs and hassle of dealing with multiple plugins. We still recommend to keep only one plugin though ! But you have those tools in case you really need them.

Our BRAW Studio Premium license will be very useful for those who have advanced workflow, often color grade their Blackmagic RAW, deal with big Premiere Pro projects with dozens or hundreds of footage, need to color grade in After Effects, etc. To learn more about the benefits of our Premium License, please read this article : BRAW Studio FREE VS Premium License.

Last but not the least, you don't have to be afraid to share your PrPro projects with colleagues who don't want to pay a license for BRAW Studio : they can use BRAW Studio FREE just fine ! They won't have access to Premium features but they'll be able to open the project, import and color grade .BRAW footage with features from the FREE version, without experiencing bugs from the BMD plugin.
