We’re very excited to release PlumePack 3.0 - a major update bringing powerful new options: Transcode, PlumePack Options Presets, Batch Process, and an improved free experience!
PlumePack V3 comes with 3 different versions: FREE, PRO and UNLIMITED. Get details about the different licenses here.
Introduction
PlumePack 3.0 is here! We listened carefully to user feedback and made PlumePack smarter, faster, and easier to adapt to any workflow - from simple archiving to advanced batch processing.
PlumePack keeps all the performance improvements from previous versions - fast project analysis, reliable trimming, and accurate relinking - and add new possibilities to your workflow!
You can find every change in detail on our PlumePack Changelog.
New Media Process Option: Transcode
PlumePack V2 had 3 Media Process Modes:
- Lossless Trim: keep only used frames without re-encoding - Keeping the exact same pixels, metadata and codec.
- Copy Only: copy your used media, with interesting sub-options for proxies
- No media Process: only clean / filter the project without processing any media.
And now PlumePack V3 has a fourth Media Process Mode: Transcode!
Transcode is done via Adobe Media Encoder. You can choose your encoding preset in the list for video and audio only files. Transcoding also supports AE Compositions imported with Dynamic Link.

The PlumePack Options Presets
Save time and ensure consistency across your projects with the new PlumePack Options Presets.
You can now store and reload different sets of PlumePack options - perfect for switching between different workflow, like archiving, delivery, collaboration, ...
Available in PlumePack PRO and UNLIMITED.

The PlumePack Queue
Every process in PlumePack now goes through the Queue. You add a Task (Project Analysis, Consolidation or a Toolbox task) to the Queue, then you launch the Queue.
Of course, you can now add multiple processes to the queue and they will be processed automatically one after another, however it is only for UNLIMITED licensed users (FREE or PRO can only launch one task in the Queue).
Batch process several projects overnight, or prepare multiple versions of the same project - all without supervision.

Improved Project Filtering and Proxy Management
Several new tools make the consolidation process even cleaner and more predictable:
- Search & Filter Bar: easily find and select specific sequences before launching your process.

- New Proxy Option: choose to copy proxies next to their main media instead of gathering them all into one folder.

Don't hesitate to tell us if you're happy with those new changes, and what you would want for the next!
Happy editing,
The Autokroma Team
