How to Use Presets in PlumePack 3.0

Save and reuse your favorite PlumePack configurations with the new Preset system!

With PlumePack 3.0, we introduced a brand new feature available in the Pro and Unlimited licenses:
the Options Presets system.

This new module lets you save, reuse, and share your favorite PlumePack configurations, perfect for teams or editors working with multiple workflows (archiving, delivery, broadcast, etc.).

What are Presets?

PlumePack Presets store your current option settings (like Media Process type, trimming options, folder structure preferences, etc.) so you can easily load them later.

Instead of reconfiguring everything for each project, you can:

  • Quickly apply your standard settings for a recurring workflow
  • Create different presets for Copy, Trim, or Transcode workflows
  • Share presets with collaborators to ensure consistent settings across multiple computers

How to Create and Manage Presets

At the top of the main PlumePack interface, you’ll now see a new section:

PlumePack_Presets_Empty

When no preset is selected, you can click Create New Preset to save your current consolidation options configuration.
A pop-up will appear asking for a name, enter it, and your preset will be saved.

Once you’ve created or selected a preset, the interface updates with the corresponding options.

PlumePack_Presets_Selected

You’ll see:

  • The currently selected preset in the dropdown list
  • A status text showing whether the preset is Applied or Modified
  • Buttons to Save, Open Preset Folder, or Delete the preset

If you change some options while a preset is active, the status switches to
“/!\ Preset Modified /!\”, reminding you to save the changes.

Saving or Updating a Preset

When you click Save Preset, a pop-up appears with two choices:

  • Update the existing preset: keep the same name to overwrite the current one with your new settings.
  • Create a new preset: enter a new name to save it separately.

This allows you to easily build multiple preset variations for different projects or workflows.

Sharing Presets Between Computers

Click Open Preset Folder to open the system folder where your presets are stored.
From there, you can:

  • Copy preset files to another computer
  • Share them with collaborators
  • Back them up for later use

Presets are simple files that can be easily transferred to keep consistent configurations across multiple workstations.

Requirements

  • The Presets feature is available in PlumePack Pro and PlumePack Unlimited.
  • Presets are stored locally on your computer but can be shared manually.
  • Make sure you’re using PlumePack 3.0.0 or later to access this feature.

Conclusion

The new Presets system in PlumePack 3.0 saves time and ensures consistent results across projects.
Whether you’re a solo editor managing several workflows or part of a larger post-production team, presets make your setup faster and more reliable.

Try it now with PlumePack Pro or Unlimited, and simplify your next consolidation session!
