With PlumePack 3.0, we are introducing new licenses: PRO and UNLIMITED instead of the only one "Premium" V2 license. We also reworked the FREE version, making PlumePack more accessible for small users while being fairer for studios and professionals handling huge projects. New Licenses in PlumePack 3.0

Why does PlumePack have new licenses and limitations?

From your feedback and our usage logs, we saw a clear difference between different types of users:

• Many of you work on small to medium projects, under a few dozen or hundred GBs.
• Others use projects of several terabytes, often in shared studio environments.

PlumePack offers a huge value for those large-scale workflows, but our previous one-time V2 Premium license didn’t reflect that difference.

To make things fairer and sustainable for us, as PlumePack asks us a lot of work to maintain, we’re introducing a new license model based on project size thresholds.

PlumePack FREE - For small editors

The FREE version is now much more capable!

You can now Trim without re-encoding and even Transcode your media previously exclusive to V2 Premium users.

• Works only for Projects (with media) under 60 GB.
• Monthly processing limit: 500 GB total (Copy, Trim or Transcode).
• Exported media are automatically suffixed with "_plumepack_free".
• A PNG banner is added in the output folder and in the exported Premiere project.
• Toolbox tools are not available.
• Some advanced options are not available. You can see such options in the Panel because they are orange colored. Find more info about those options in this article.
• Restricted to one project in Pending Queue, so you can't process multiple projects in one click

When analyzing a project in the FREE version, PlumePack will display a warning with a “NeedLicense” status if the project size is higher than 60 GB, showing that a paid license is required to process that project.

PlumePack PRO - For most professionals

PlumePack PRO is the natural evolution of the old V2 Premium license. It keeps all the existing PlumePack 2.X features and adds new ones. However it is now limited on Project Size.

• Works only for large Projects (with media) under 2 TB.
• Access to all advanced options
• Access to the Toolbox (Trim / Transcode selected files, UnMerge merged clips, ReOrder your tracks, ...).
• No suffix on exported media and no PNG banner added to the output folder.
• Restricted to one project in Pending Queue, so you can't process multiple projects in one click

PlumePack UNLIMITED - For heavy users and studios

For studios or advanced users working with multiple and huge projects, PlumePack UNLIMITED removes all restrictions.

• No Project size limit (works with any project size).
• Access to the new PlumePack Queue to batch process several consolidations automatically.
• Access to all advanced options
• Access to the Toolbox (Trim / Transcode selected files, UnMerge merged clips, ReOrder your tracks, ...).
• No suffix on exported media and no PNG banner added to the output folder.

PlumePack V3 Upgrades

Please note that any registered PlumePack V2 or V1 Premium License will not unlock PRO or UNLIMITED new licenses features and is equivalent to using PlumePack in FREE mode.

However, if you already have a V2 license, you can upgrade at a discounted price. You have access to 2 different upgrade prices for the 2 different new licenses: PlumePack PRO or PlumePack UNLIMITED. Details and links to upgrade can be found below.

Note: Free upgrade to V3 Pro for all customers who purchased PlumePack V2 Premium after October 1, 2025.

Upgrade From PlumePack V2 to V3 if you bought from Autokroma.com

If you purchased your PlumePack V2 license from Autokroma.com, you can easily upgrade by purchasing the upgrade license from there:

Once you've registered the new upgrade license in the Settings & License popup while your V2 license is also registered (tutorial to retrieve your License and unlock PlumePack here), it will convert your licenses to a PlumePack V3 license.

Note: Licensing with an Upgrade License is only possible if you have previously registered a V2 license, otherwise the upgrade license is not going to work alone. If you don't have a V2 license, you must purchase the full PlumePack Product.

Upgrade From PlumePack V2 to V3 if you bought from aescripts.com

For those who purchased their V2 license from aescripts.com, simply add PlumePack to your cart from this link while logged in with the account where you already purchased a V2 license, and the discount will be applied automatically. This allows you to get the upgrade license without paying the full price of PlumePack V3, giving you access to more features and less limitations!
